Privacy policy

Last updated September 24, 2026

This policy explains what Verihaq collects when you use the website or the browser extension, why we collect it, and who else receives it. Verihaq checks the credibility of an article you choose to analyze and saves the report to your account.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and password when you create an account or sign in. The password is used to sign you in. We keep a session so you stay signed in. We also store your plan, monthly report allowance, and whether the account is active.
  • Article content you ask us to analyze. The article text you paste on the website, or the text extracted from the page you choose to analyze in the extension, plus the title and page address when we have them.
  • Reports. The score, category breakdown, findings, and related results saved to your account.
  • Feedback. A Useful or Not useful rating, and any note you choose to leave on a report.
  • Payment status. If you buy a paid plan, our payment provider processes the payment. Verihaq stores your plan and payment status. We do not store your full card number.
  • Extension settings on your device. Your sign-in session, theme preference, and the analysis in progress, stored locally in the browser so the extension can show your report.
  • Connection data. Standard information such as your IP address and the time of a request, which arrives when your browser contacts Verihaq.

What the extension reads

The extension reads the article on the page you ask it to analyze. It uses that text to create the report. It does not collect a list of every page you visit, and it does not record your clicks, keystrokes, or location.

Browser settings pages, extension stores, empty tabs, and many homepages cannot be analyzed.

How we use this information

  • To sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • To analyze the article you submit and show you the report.
  • To save reports so you can open them later.
  • To apply your monthly report allowance and paid plan.
  • To read feedback you choose to send.
  • To operate, protect, and fix the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending.

Who else receives it

We share information only as needed to provide Verihaq:

  • AI providers receive the article text and related analysis instructions so they can produce the credibility report.
  • Our account and database provider stores your account, session, and saved reports.
  • Our payment provider receives the details needed to charge a paid plan. Card details are entered on the payment provider’s page, not stored by Verihaq.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect Verihaq, our users, or the public from harm.

How long we keep it

Account details and reports stay while your account is open and as needed to provide the service. Payment records are kept as needed for billing and accounting. Session data in the extension stays on your device until you sign out or remove the extension.

Your choices

  • You choose which article to paste or analyze.
  • You can sign out on the website or in the extension. Signing out ends the session stored on that device.
  • You can remove the extension. That stops it from reading new pages. Reports already saved to your account remain until the account data is deleted.
  • You can ask us to access or delete the personal information tied to your account, as described under Contact.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
